October Wipocalypse Update

So, finally it's time to update for October.  It's been a long month.

First, I have two finishes!

I finished Happy Halloween from Fresh Threads Studio.

I also finally finished Sewing Jars by SanMan Originals.

I also finished my spider garland.  Three have crocheted bodies, but the rest are pompoms.  The "web" is a really long chain stitch.

I also did a little finishing, and made Bittersweet Autumn into a bellpull.

And now onto the WIPs.

I worked a bit more on Magnolia this month.

I tried working on Pumpkin Sampler, but the Byzantine stitch pumpkins are being difficult.  I'm hoping the removable backstitch will help.

I also worked a bit on Winter Sampler, the cupcake SAL, and the Little Witches needlebook.

I started a couple new things as well.  One is a Halloween ornament.

And the other is a crocheted snow lady that I'm making as a Christmas present.

And that's it for this month!  I will leave you with my pictures of my cats being very reluctant fairies.

September WIPocalypse Update

It's finally fall, my favorite time of the year.  The only down side is that winter isn't far away, and that's my absolutle least favorite time of the year.  But for now, I will revel in Halloween goodness.

So for a stitching update...just two WIP pictures this month.  My stitching mojo seems to be weak lately.  But I have worked on some fall/Halloween projects.

First is Jeanette Douglas's Pumpkin Sampler.  It's working up fast.

And I've been working on a Halloween ornament by Fresh Threads Studio.

And while I haven't been stitching, I have done a bunch of finishing.

And I almost have the little pumpkin done (just needs it's stem).

And of course I already decorated for Halloween.  :)

And that's all I have for this month.

Blue Moon WIPocalypse update

I'm a bit late again, because I'm on vacation.  :)  But it ends tomorrow, sadly.  Still, it was so nice to have some time away from work.

So, the main triumph this month was finishing Phoenix, which I got done during the Olympic "sprint".  I posted it then, but I'll post it again.

I tried to sprint on Sewing Jars, and I did get the cross stitch done!  But the 15 (!) colors of backstitch bogged me down.  But it's coming along slowly.

I also worked on a couple of my crazy January projects, Tiny Pumpkin Etui and Winter Sampler.

These are panels of a pincushion.  Two are done, and I started the third.

And Magnolia is also coming along slowly.

I have a couple of new starts, Pumpkin Sampler by Jeannette Douglas from the Halloween issue of JCS and a Halloween crochet project (spider garland).

I also got into a crafty mood and started some finishing, as well as a smaller version of the glass pumpkin I did last fall.

And that's it for another month!

Olympic Sprint Finished!

My Phoenix is done!

And now what to do?  I have another piece I could "sprint" on...but I also just got the Lizzie Kate Mystery Halloween sampler in the mail.  Decisions, decisions....

ETA:

I decided I will be sprinting on Sewing Jars by San Man Originals (see pic in previous post).  Let's see if I can finish it this week!

August WIPocalypse update

Well, it seems to be a hot humid start to August here in Michigan.  I am so happy I have central air.  :)  I've been working on Joan Elloitt's Phoenix as I watch the Olympics (pic is in my last post).  I'm still backstitching those big tail feathers, but it's getting there.

So, I have some happy dances this month.  First are a couple of things for a friend's baby.
I was supposed to see little Trinity this weekend, but I'm running a slight temp and have a sore throat.  So, no being around little ones for me!  So my mom will deliver the gifts for me.

And a little Halloween stitching.  One is Mill Hill and the other is by The Stitchworks.

And now for WIPS.  Keeping with the Halloween mood, I worked on my needlebook by Fern Ridge Collections.  Hmmm...I seem to be a little stuck on witch hats.

I also worked more on San Man's Sewing Jars.

And a little more on Joan Elliott's Butterfly Cushion.

And last but not least, Nora Corbett's Magnolia.

And speaking of Nora Corbett, I have my August Mirabilia up on the wall.  She's one of my favorites.

And now, I should get off the computer and back to the Phoenix.  :)

Olympic Stitching

I will be "sprinting" to finish Joan Elliott's Phoenix during this Olympics.  All that's left is a few miles of backstitch.  :)

July WIPocalypse update

Wow, July already?  It seems like this year is just whizzing by.  Although I won't argue if fall wants to get here quicker...I'm sick of this extreme heat!  And fall means Halloween!  :)

So, I have two happy dances this month!

First is a baby sampler pillow for some friends.  Hopefully, I'll be able to give it to them in person next month.

Next is a little freebie from SanMan Originals:

Speaking of SanMans, I'm still working on Sewing Jars and the cupcake tree.

I'm also still working on Magnolia.

And Joan Elliott's Phoenix is being backstitched!  Yup, all the cross stitches are done!  I think.  But there's a few miles of backstitch, so no happy dance just yet.

I picked this little Mill Hill kit up yesterday at the my LNS (along with many other goodies including the 2012 JCS Halloween collection!) and started it:

I also got Sweet Pea framed and hanging up, which is good, as she is my July Mirabilia.

I did a few crafty things as well.  I thought the octopus I did last month looked lonely, so I made him a friend.

I also made memory boards for my nephews...but I forgot pictures!  I do have a pic of the one I made for their sister:
So, like that, but one was in University of Michigan fabric with yellow ribbon and one was Michigan State fabric with white ribbon.  Yes, they live in the same house (their poor parents!).
