June WIPocalypse update

Hey, I'm posting on time.  It's a miracle!  Lots of WIPs this time since I skipped them last month.

First, Phoenix by Joan Elliott is coming along.

Then there's my two SanMan designs, the cupcake stand and Sewing Jars.

Since New Year's Fairy is done, now I'm working on Magnolia.

I also worked a bit more on The Biggest Stash by Janis Lockheart.

Then I actually pulled out Teresa Wentzler's Dragon Ride, which hasn't seen the light of day in a very long time and stitched a bit on the wings.

Then I started something new, because obviously, this is a sickness.  *l*  This is Joan Elliott's new butterfly design found in a recent issue of the The World of Cross Stitching.  It is a gorgeous design!

I also did a few crafty things.  I made a couple of hats for a steampunk convention last weekend, although the seamstress hat with the pincushion proved to be too heavy.  :(  I also made a feather toy for the kitties since I had the feathers out.

And then I crocheted a little octopus for a friend.  This was a free design I got off the Crochet Pattern Directory, but unfortunately, the blog it came from doesn't seem to exist anymore.

WIPopocalypse May Update

I am running so late this month!  So, I am just going to post a couple of happy dances and leave the WIPs for the next post.  Not that the WIPs have much progress...I have not been stitching as much as I'd like to be.

So first, a Hardanger card I made for a coworker who left this month for a new job.

And next, I finished New Year's Fairy!

April WIPocalypse update

Well, I'm running late this month, but better late than never, I guess.  First off, I have another happy dance this month!  Well, two actually.  I also finished the baby sampler, but I can't post a pic because I put the baby's full name on it.  I did post a picture last month of everything except the words.

So, my big finish this month is Irish Toast by Cross My Heart.

This is an old WIP too.  I checked my stitching journals, and it was started in 2003!  Ironically, I started this piece after I stitched this pattern for my grandmother, because I wanted one of my own.  Well, I got the original piece back last year after my grandmother died.  But that one was stitched on white Aida, and this fabric is much nicer, so I decided to finish and keep this one.

As for the rest of my WIPs, I worked on a bunch of stuff again.  I continued working on Joan Elliott's Phoenix.

Also, the two SanMans, Sewing jars and the monthly cupcake stand.

I finally got the dress done (and legs and face) on New Year's Fairy!

I'm working on another baby project.  This goes into a tuck pillow.  The design is exclusive to a needlework store nearby.

And I pulled out another old WIP that I had forgotten, Lily of the Valley Sampler by Drawn Thread.

I also started something new, because I just don't have enough to work on.  :-P

This is Happy Easter by Hinzeit.  I got the pattern and frame in a grab bag.  :-)

Last, but not least, a friend inspired me to dig out Peacock Tapestry and work on it again.  I'm working down in the grassy area very very very slowly.  *l*

March Wipocalypse check in

Well, I have two more happy dances this month.  First off is a crocheted scarf I made for my niece who just turned 13.  She loves Cookie Monster.  :)

Next is a little kit I picked up at my LNS's Super Bowl sale.  Since I collect pincushions, I had to get this.

And now progress shots.  I continued working on New Year's Fairy.

I also got the baby sampler all done except the name and date.  And yes, baby Starling finally arrived on the 17th, and she's a beautiful healthy girl.  I haven't gotten to see her yet though.  :(

I also worked more on the SanMan cupcake tree, and got the February cupcake done.

I got a bit more done on Joan Elliott's Phoenix.

And I worked more on Irish Toast.

February WIPocalypse check in

So, it's time for the second progress report of my WIPs.  And I'm glad to say I have two happy dances!

First is Nora Corbett's Sweet Pea.  I didn't think I'd get her done as I didn't have the Waterlily for the back stitching, but I just ended up subbing another silk that worked well enough.  :)

I also got Plant Love by Lizzie Kate done.

Over the month I worked on many different projects.  There were two other Nora Corbett's, New Year's Fairy and Magnolia.

I also worked on two SanMans, Sewing Jars and the cupcake stand.

I worked on Joan Elliott's Phoenix (mostly on flowers).

I also worked on the baby sampler for my friends.  No, no baby yet.  She's late!

And last, but not least, I pulled out an old WIP that really needs to be finished.  I meant to get it done last year, and I did make progress, but now I just have a load of backstitching to do (which is what I started on).  This is Irish Toast by Cross My Heart.

Hopefully I'll have another happy dance by March.  Maybe the baby sampler if nothing else.  :)



WIPocalyspe update and crazy January week 2

So, first updating for the WIPocalypse.  As part of my crazy January challenge, I've worked on several WIPs.

First off, is Mirabilia's Sweet Pea.  She is so very close to being done!  I hope I'll be doing a happy dance on the next update!

Next, is Lizzie Kate's Plant Love.  It's only technically a WIP, because I started it before Christmas. 

Another Mirabilia, New Year's Fairy.  Not so much done on her.

The Miras are part of my goal to have one for every month for a particular spot on my wall.  So far, I have 5 done.  This one will be the January Mira obviously.  Sweet Pea will be for July.

Phoenix by Joan Elliott.  This one is also pretty close to being done.

Winter Sampler by Teresa Wentzler.  I was speeding right along with this one until I hit that over one section.  But I'm plugging away at it.  I have Spring Sampler kitted up and ready to go when I get this done.  :)

Ah, the Dragon Dreams Virtues afghan.  This got started as a round robin actually.  I did one square (peace) and the other two (and a half) were done by friends.  This only got pulled out due to interest on the SanMan board to do a afghan SAL.  I worked a bit on the half done square, discovered more than a few "issues", and then started a new square.

Last, but not least, the baby sampler I'm doing for some very good friends.  The baby's due next month, so I have to get going!  The nursery has a woodland theme, heavy on the owls, so I used a couple different designers to put this together.










So, that's all the WIPs.  Now for the crazy January week 2 update.  Mostly WIPs this week.

Day 8:  Started Little Witches needlebook by Fern Ridge designs.  I just got the outline done and the moon stitched.

Day 9:  Worked on New Year's Fairy by Mirabilia.  See pic above.

Day 10:  Worked on Phoenix by Joan Elliott.  See the pic above.

Day 11:  Worked on Dragon Dreams afghan and started a new square.  The pic above was a "before" pic.

Day 12:  Worked on baby sampler.  See pic above.  I counted over to start one of the owls, but now I'm wondering if I should have left more room for the baby's name.  The parents won't tell me until after the baby's born.  I just know how many letters.

Day 13.  Started tiny pumpkin Etui by Praiseworthy Stitches.  This is actually 3 pieces, a pincushion, a needlebook and a scissors fob.  This is one panel of the pincushion.

Day 14:  Worked on Winter Sampler by Teresa Wentzler.  See pic above.  I decided to remove Earth Goddess from my list and put another WIP on it.  I'll start the goddesses only when I finish Phoenix.

Day 15:  Starting Magnolia by Mirabilia.  And I should probably get off the computer and get on that.  :) 

Crazy January Challenge-week 1

So far, I've worked on one project a day.  Five were new, two were WIPs.  So much for concentrating more on WIPs!  *lol*  

Jan. 1  Started The Biggest Stash by Janis Lockhart (magazine pattern).  Since it doesn't look like anything but a greenish blob at the moment, I won't post a pic.

Jan. 2  Worked on Sweet Pea (Mirabilia).  She's pretty much number one on my WIPocalypse list because she's almost done.  I finished the braid in her wings and backstitched her legs.

Jan. 3 Started Sewing Jars by SanMan Originals.  This is a beautiful vintage sewing machine with lots of sewing stuff.  Someday I'll have a sewing room to hang it in (not to mention my great grandmother's treadle sewing machine!).

Jan. 4  Started Jack O'Cat by Mill Hill.

Jan. 5 Started a crocheted Cookie Monster scarf for my niece.  The main part of the scarf is cookies with the two ends being Cookie Monster's head.  Ok, that sounds a bit creepy, but it really is cute. It's a free pattern found here. (Pic is on Ravelry).  I got four cookies done, but didn't take a pic, since they're just four brown circles.

Jan. 6 Worked on Plant Love by Lizzie Kate, technically a WIP, but I only started it right before Christmas.

Jan. 7 Started a monthly SAL from the SanMan board of a cupcake stand with monthly cupcakes.  This is from the Merry Member club that you pay to get into.  I started the cupcake stand and got it to the point where I can start the January cupcake. 

Well, that's my first week.  Today, I'll be starting my Little Witches needlebook, as it seems a bit complicated and thus needs a bit more time than I have on week nights.  I think I have to stitch the outline first...so lots of counting.  *sigh*
